Wedding Place Cards

I am a firm believer in place cards.  I know it is like a game of Tetris where the blocks have opinions, but in the end it is better for everyone.

Imagine people filling up a movie theater.  Does everyone file in accordingly and take the seat next to the previous person that arrived?  No.  Never.  The first few people take the best seats in different rows.  Then people fill in the seats next to them, but they leave empty seats in between.  Later, couples and families arrive, but they can't find seats together so they have to break up.  In the end, you have a lot of grumpy people that are split up. Having place cards at a wedding eliminates this same problem.  People don't need to worry about getting a seat with their loved ones.

Colorful mini clothespins are a cute way to string up the place cards.  Guests can find their card with their table number so they can find their seat.  It is a fun and beautiful way to show off the place cards!

I Fell in Love with an Invitation

I am gushing over the first wedding invitation of the year!  I opened the mail today and saw the most beautiful envelope.  It exuded sophistication and class; my heart melted when I saw it.

I know it sounds a little ridiculous to be so enamored with an envelope, but I must say that it is rare to receive a truly formal invitation.  The address was hand written in beautiful calligraphy and just handling the envelope, I could tell that it was made of a fine paper and was lined.  The envelope was hand cancelled by the post office to prevent damage.  On the back, the return address was a custom stamp that complimented the style of the invitation.  This is just the outside of the invitation!

On the inside, the invitation was a simple white card that opened up to an elegant black and white invitation.  The only insert was the RSVP card and envelope.  A bunch of junk didn't fall out, and there was not information about the gift registry - apparently someone is up to date on their etiquette!

Simple. Elegant. Perfect.
